By choosing a well-known paint, you´ll ensure the one you´ve chosen won`t peel or chip after a little wear and tear. If you`re not sure which paint brands are best, ask for help when you visit your hardware store, and a sales associate can give you detailed information.

L-shaped kitchens work particularly well for homeowners with a small- to medium-sized kitchen space — they require at least one wall, which will usually feature cabinets and other permanent fixtures like a stove and sink. They may also incorporate a kitchen island, which can be extremely useful for food preparation and added storage. L-shaped kitchens often feature one portion of the "L" as an open counter space with a pass-through to a dining or living room to open up the entire kitchen space and create the impression of a larger area. L-shaped kitchens can be particularly functional and attractive spaces, as useful for cooking and cleaning as for gathering, eating and conversing.

Priming will ensure your chairs have a beautiful, clean finish. Once the primer is completely dry, you can begin painting your chairs. Remember to go with the grain of the wood and use consistent strokes with your paintbrush or roller. Let the paint dry in-between coats, and make sure to seal the chair with a layer of polyurethane. This final step will protect your chairs from inevitable kitchen spills and general wear and tear, and it will also give them a glossy, even finish.

To avoid highlighting any imperfections on your ceiling, it's best to use a flat finish, but some interior designers like to use a glossy finish for new homes to reflect light and add some dimension to the space.

Before you begin painting, make sure to cover your floor, countertops, cabinets, appliances and any other surfaces with a drop cloth. Using painter′s tape, cover the area where the wall meets the ceiling, unless you′re using the same color on both surfaces.
