Steam Ovens. "As people try to eat healthier foods, we are seeing more steam ovens being installed in new kitchens," Trivisonno says. Relying solely on super-heated steam to cook foods, these ovens require no fats, oils or other unhealthy additions when preparing a meal. About the size of a microwave—and built into a wall cabinet—these flexible appliances can steam fish and veggies, keep cooked foods warm and moist, and even proof bread dough.
You can use paint to make a brown stove white or you can really have fun and inject some life into the most important items in your kitchen. If the rest of your kitchen is neutral, a red or brightly colored fridge will really pop. Just remember that painting appliances can be a long, tedious process. Keep that in mind when selecting colors for your appliances and choose ones that you′ll be happy with for a while.
Kitchens are high-traffic zones, making them prime candidates for clutter, but you can minimize countertop chaos by tucking away unsightly kitchen appliances. Among the most common small appliances to linger on countertops are coffee makers, toasters, crock pots and blenders. Take back your cook prep space by finding these appliances a home inside a deep cabinet that´s convenient to the spot you like to operate them. Take it a step further and build out a cabinet, from its existing base to the top of the counter for an appliance garage that can accommodate your gadgets. Though it doesn`t save you counter space, it does spare you a gaggle of unsightly wires. On the appliance garage, opt for a traditional cabinet door or distinguish it with a roll-up breadbox-style opening. For maximum efficiency, install electrical outlets inside.
To update your appliances using paint, make sure they`re unplugged and pulled away from the wall. Make sure to clean the appliance beforehand to remove any grime or other residue. If you skip this step, the paint will not adhere to the item. Remove or cover all the hardware and handles from your appliances. Try to paint your appliances outside if possible. If you don`t have any outdoor space, make sure to cover all the other items in your kitchen and open some windows for ventilation.
